Geronimo Inns and Aspalls Cyder 10 year anniversary
Last night saw Geronimo Inns celebrate their 10 year anniversary with Aspalls Cyder at The Fentiman Arms near Oval cricket ground. In typical Geronimo style, no expense was spared and a lavish 10 course menu with matching ciders was created for the event, which was held in the private room. Geronimo Inns’ chief, Ed Turner, alongside Aspalls’ experts Barry and Henry hosted the event. Guest of honour ex England Cricketer Matthew Hoggard MBE gave a Q and A which mainly consisted of spilling the dirt on other cricketers. Press were also invited and the list included the likes of Stylist, The Guardian, Event Magazine and Food Goblin blog. A great evening was had by all and we imagine some sore heads were felt this morning!

A rather interesting article in The Guardian online revealed the change in how algorithms are deciphering online content. The approach of ranking distributed content based on its relevance, quality and originality is proving higher than the traditional methods of building links to strengthen SEO. Reassuring news for us here at Me:Mo, with our focus lying heavily on producing high quality digital content to optimise interaction across our social media channels. With this in mind, competing on creativity will only raise the bar to a level where the strength of your campaign will become more and more dependent, not on the weight of your wallet but the creative juices in your brain…

We enjoyed a wonderful summer lunch at The Square yesterday (27th July) as guests of Phil Howard and his family. Phil had last week returned from the South of France with a selection of olive oils that found their way into each of the dishes. The highlight though was rosé made by Phil’s father Francis. His La Cotriade, 2013, Côtes de Provence, paired with an unctous marinated aubergine and goats curd dish was as close to the St. Tropez as you’re likely to get while sitting in Mayfair!
This lunch was part of a series of one-off events that Me:Mo have been marketing, through regular newsletters to The Square’s customer database and social media channels. The next dinner will be a truffle special on August 20th, this sold out in record time but if you’re interested in future events then please keep an eye on The Square’s Twitter.

We got our first look at the latest addition to the CAU herd (pun intended) in Bristol yesterday. The site was a hive of activity with builders, joiners and installers working on the final touches ready for opening on August 4th.
The regular CAU interior motifs; grass ‘effect’ ceilings, blue sky, clouds and white tin panelling, a visual identity that echoes the restaurants spirit of Buenos Aries philiosophy are all in place, along with, and perhaps most importantly – the grill! With the Bristol site exposed concrete beams from the original structure are going to add another element to the design. We were most impressed by the striking bar which we think will become a reason to visit in itself.
You can keep up with progress on the CAU Bristol Twitter channel here.
