Lobster and Margaritas at Benito’s Hat

Last night, Me:Mo Interactive hosted a press event at Benito’s Hat, Burritos and Margaritas, to celebrate the launch of a rather special dish – a Lobster Burrito.  Hailed as the first of its kind in London, this burrito is both luxurious and indulgent and the press certainly thought so!

The evening was hosted by Co Founder, Ben Fordham and head chef Felipe, with the likes of Stylist, The Caterer, Buzzfeed, Fluid London and Food Goblin attending.  The night kicked off with Ben showing guests how to make the perfect margarita – who knew that it included a dash of scotch bonnet chilli?!

Felipe then went through the art of de-shelling a lobster before splitting the press into teams and making them do it themselves! With a time limit of 10 minutes they were to be judged on how much meat they could get out of the lobster. It might come as no surprise that this was a hotly contested competition – with Stylist being the ultimate winner.

After the stress of the competition the press were then rewarded by feasting on the lobster burrito – lobster fritters, sliced hass avocado, hand-shredded white and red cabbage, lime and coriander rice, hand-chopped pico de gallo, crispy bacon and a lobster and crab reduction – all washed down with plenty of margaritas.

With the press being fully fed and watered they left with a gift bag, consisting of a mango and chilli salsa, recipe cards, tortilla chips and a range of other goodies.
